Locum Tenens Pediatrician – Near Arrington, TN

We are currently seeking a Board Certified Pediatrician for a locum tenens position near Arrington, TN. This role is focused on inpatient nursery coverage with call-only responsibilities. The position is ideal for a pediatrician with experience in nursery care who is looking for a short-term assignment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Pediatric Care: Provide expert care for newborns and infants in the nursery. Responsibilities include admissions and consultations as required.


• Call Coverage: Be available for 24-hour call, providing care as needed throughout the shift.


• Rounding: Required to round on nursery patients as needed, though rounding specifics will be unassigned.


• Admissions: Handle admissions and manage inpatient care responsibilities.

Required Skills and Procedures:

• Pediatric Nursery Care: Perform standard nursery duties, including handling a variety of infant care needs.


• Procedures: Be capable of handling usual and customary pediatric procedures in an inpatient setting.


• Patient Volume: Manage approximately 2 patients per shift.

Certification and Licensing:

• Board Certification: Required in Pediatrics. Fellowship training preferred but not mandatory.


• State License: Must hold an active Tennessee medical license or be eligible through IMLC.


• Certifications: BLS and PALS certifications required.


• Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 7 days.

Additional Information:

• EMR System: The facility uses eCW and MedHost for electronic medical records; familiarity with these systems is preferred.


• Temporary Privileges: Available for expedited onboarding.


• Support: The nursery has 16 beds, with general support and resources available.
