Position Overview

Emergency Medicine physician coverage needed at a busy acute care setting. Provider will evaluate and treat emergency presentations across adult and pediatric populations as applicable, and will collaborate with an APP team.

Annual emergency department volume approximately 47,000

Coverage model approximately 38 physician hours plus 33 APP hours

EMR: Epic

Required Qualifications

MD or DO

Graduate of an accredited medical school and completion of Emergency Medicine residency (3 years)

Board certification: ABEM, ABFM, ABIM, American Board of Physician Specialties, or AOA (for DO) as applicable

Active, unrestricted Tennessee medical license

Active DEA with Tennessee address and schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5

ECFMG required for foreign graduates

New graduates acceptable: Emergency Medicine residency graduates within the past 12 months considered

Ability to serve as supervising physician for NPs and PAs

Certifications

ACLS, ATLS, and PALS if not board certified in Emergency Medicine

NRP required for non ABEM providers

Credentialing and Onboarding Items (must be provided)

Case logs for the last two years, plus any documentation for special training for special procedures

MMR and Varicella: 2 vaccines or titers with values indicating immunity for MMR and Varicella

Two step TB test within the past 12 months (second TB test required prior to activation of privileges)

If TB test is positive, chest X ray within the last 3 months

TB QuantiFERON Gold test result indicating immunity (if taken within the last three months of privileges being granted, a second TB test will not be required)

Preeclampsia eclampsia CME during initial application and every two years for reappointments

Malpractice coverage: 1M per loss event and 3M annual aggregate

Credentialing timeline: 61 to 90 days
