What You’ll Do:
- Support clinical interventions using evidence-based practices tailored to patient needs.
- Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatments to patients with cognitive and physical functioning challenges under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
- Administer procedures including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, exercises, modalities, and assistive device support.
- Assess patient progress, communicate effectively with supervising therapists, and document treatment outcomes accurately.
- Offer consultation and education to patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare providers.
- Participate in care planning, discharge processes, team meetings, and ongoing training to ensure the highest quality of care.
- Support and supervise students under the guidance of a licensed Occupational Therapist while adhering to all regulatory standards and ethical practices.
Required Skills:
- Active State Licensure/Registration as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Proven knowledge of clinical interventions, documentation, and patient assessment.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members, patients, and families.
- Ability to follow regulatory and clinical practice requirements diligently.
- Commitment to ethical practice and ongoing professional development.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience working in Long Term Care or similar healthcare settings.
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems.
- Ability to support and supervise students or new team members.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) in Oregon.
- Prior experience in long-term care settings is preferred but not mandatory.
Other Requirements:
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel within the facility as needed.
- Willingness to participate in required trainings, meetings, and conferences.
- Must comply with all licensure, certification, and practice act standards.
