Job Title: Registered Nurse - PCU
Hourly Pay Rate: $50.25
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of recent PCU experience, with strong skills in cardiac and medical stepdown care. You will be responsible for managing a diverse patient population, including those recovering from cardiac surgeries, respiratory failure, CVA, DKA, sepsis, and other complex conditions.
Responsibilities include titrating cardiac drips, insulin infusions, vasopressors, managing central lines, chest tubes, traches, and other drains and tubes, as well as providing wound care. The RN must be proficient in EKG interpretation and pass a competency exam prior to arrival. You will work with a supportive team that includes CNA, support techs, unit secretary, resource nurses, RT, and hospitalist support.
Shift Details:
- Work schedule: 4 days one week, 3 days the next
- Weekend rotations every other weekend
- Willingness to work 2/3 major holidays
- No on-call required
Certifications Required:
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- Preferred: LVAD certification (for 2 West only)
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU RN experience
- Experience with cardiac stepdown patients is essential
- First-time travelers must have 2 years of permanent staff acute care RN experience

- Scrub color: Pewter
- Attire: Gray, white, or black T-shirts with WK monogram; jackets in gray or black
- Charting system: Meditech Expanse
- Support equipment: Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing
