Job Description: Physical Therapist - Inpatient Acute Care We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist to join our team in the Inpatient Acute Care setting. As a Physical Therapist, you will work with patients recovering from surgery, illness, or injury to help them regain their mobility, strength, and overall function. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver personalized care that maximizes recovery and improves patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities: - Assess and evaluate patients' physical abilities, functional limitations, and rehabilitation needs in an inpatient acute care setting.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address specific rehabilitation goals and improve patients' mobility, strength, and functional independence.
- Provide hands-on therapy and therapeutic exercises to assist patients in regaining their physical function.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure effective treatment.
- Educate patients and their families about their condition, rehabilitation exercises, and injury prevention strategies.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during therapy sessions, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement activities to enhance care delivery and patient satisfaction.
- Stay current with advancements in physical therapy techniques and treatments through continuing education and professional development.
Required Qualifications: - Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (or eligibility for licensure).
- Strong knowledge of inpatient rehabilitation and acute care therapy techniques.
- Ability to assess and treat patients with a variety of conditions, including post-surgical recovery, neurological disorders, and musculoskeletal injuries.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications: - Previous experience as a Physical Therapist in an inpatient acute care setting.
- Specialization or certification in orthopedics, neurology, or another related area.
- Advanced clinical skills in functional mobility training, gait analysis, and manual therapy.
