We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens position near Elkhart, TX. This role provides a valuable opportunity to contribute to an essential emergency department with flexible scheduling options.

Position Overview:

Specialty: Emergency Medicine

Start Date: ASAP

Estimated Length of Assignment: Ongoing, through August 2025 (potentially longer)

Shift Details:
- Standard Shifts: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM
- Coverage Needed: 10-12 shifts per month (24-hour shifts)
- Minimum Shifts: 1-2 shifts (local candidates); 3 shifts required for travel reimbursement

Work Details:

Job Requirements:
- State License: Active Texas license required (or Compact License)
- Board Certifications: Must be boarded in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine; Emergency Medicine preferred. ABEM, AOBEM, ABFM, ABIM, or ABPS accepted.
- Certifications:
  - ATLS, ACLS, and PALS required
  - EM Boarded: ACLS and PALS must be current, ATLS can be expired but needs a copy of the card
  - Other Boards (IM/FM): Current ATLS, ACLS, and PALS required

Annual Volume:
- Total Patients: 8,000
- Patients per Day: 22 (average)
- Percentage of EMS Transfers: 11.06%
- Percentage of Admitted Patients: 2.09%
- Trauma Level Designation: Level 4

Facility Details:
- ED Beds & Fast Track Beds: 5 beds each
- Hospital Beds: 25 beds
- Backup Specialties: Most services transferred to a main facility
- EMR System: PICIS

Onboarding:
- Orientation/EMR Training: Provided by the Medical Director; 1-2 hours orientation before shift
