Locum Tenens Opportunity: Emergency Medicine Physician Near Conroe, TX

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens position near Conroe, TX. This role provides an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced emergency department with flexible scheduling options.

Position Overview:

Specialty: Emergency Medicine

Start Date: ASAP

Estimated Length of Assignment: Ongoing, potentially through August 2025 or longer

Shift Details:
- 12-hour shifts
- Standard shifts are from 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 12-14 shifts per month required, preference for night shifts, but split shifts are also considered

Work Details:

Coverage Needed:
- 12-14 shifts per month, 12-hour shifts
- Will consider candidates for day/night or night shifts

Job Requirements:
- Board Certifications:
  - Board Certified/Eligible in Emergency Medicine required
- State License:
  - Active Texas license required (or Compact License)
- Certifications:
  - ACLS, ATLS, and PALS required
  - For boarded EM physicians: ACLS and PALS must be current; ATLS can be expired but needs a copy of the card

Staffing Model:
- Physician and APP NP/PA model
- Shift times: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Department Details:
- Annual patient volume: 23,000
- Average patients per day: 22
- Percentage of EMS Transfers: 2.35%
- Percentage of Admitted Patients: 16.03%
- Trauma Level Designation: Level 4
- No scribe coverage

Facility:
- 15 ED beds, 3 Fast Track beds
- Special services include OB/GYN backup, with consults from various specialties (FM, IM, General Surgery, Urology, Cardiology, ENT, ID, Neurology, GI)
- EMR System: PICIS

Onboarding:
- EMR training provided by the Medical Director
- Orientation: 1-2 hours before shift
- Yearly PPD, FLU vaccination, and COVID-19 documentation required

Travel Logistics:
- Travel reimbursement considered with a minimum of 3-4 shifts
