Position Description

We are currently seeking dedicated Emergency Medicine Physicians to join our team near West Palm Beach, FL, on a locum tenens basis. Excitingly, a new Allopathic Emergency Medicine Residency Program is set to commence in 2025, presenting a unique opportunity to contribute to medical education alongside clinical practice.

Emergency Department Profile

• Start Date: ASAP


• End Date: Ongoing


• Facility Type: Level II Trauma Center


• Annual Patient Visits: 61,000 in Main ED, 16,000 in Peds ED


• ED Beds: 42, including 5 fast track and 5 monitored beds


• Trauma Bays: 3, including 1 pediatric


• Physician Coverage: 70 hours total (Main ED and Peds ED combined)


• APP Coverage: 60 hours


• Admit Rate: 26%


• EMR: Meditech, Pdoc, Dragon Dictation


• Special Facilities: Comprehensive Stroke Facility, Interventional Cardiac Cath Facility, Code Ice Facility with Therapeutic Hypothermia Capability


• Equipment: Dedicated ED Glide Scopes, Ultrasound Machines


• Support Services: 24-hour In-house Hospitalists and Intensivists


• Responsibilities: No floor code or consult responsibilities

Requirements

Qualified candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (EM)


• Active Florida medical license


• Willingness to provide coverage at affiliated Free-Standing Emergency Room (FSER) in Vero Beach, with the majority of coverage at the main hospital
