Locum Tenens Opportunity: Emergency Medicine Physician

We are currently seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician to join our team for a locum tenens position near Gentry, AR. This opportunity is available immediately and extends until July 29, 2024, with the possibility of extension. As a critical access rural hospital, we provide essential emergency medical services to our community, offering comprehensive care with fewer volumes compared to larger hospitals.

Position Details:

• Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours Only


• EMR System: Epic


• Patients Per Shift: Approximately 38 per 24 hours


• Bed Capacity: 12


• Practice Setting: Outpatient

Responsibilities:

As an Emergency Medicine Physician with us, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing emergency medical care to patients presenting to the ED


• Performing usual ED procedures, including intubation, chest tube insertion, conscious sedation, laceration repair, central line placement, suturing, I&D, dental blocks, foreign body removal, reductions, cardioversion, and responding to codes


• Managing a variety of cases, including Stroke, STEMI, pediatrics, and adults


• Admitting patients to the hospital via our Hospitalist team and collaborating closely with them for patient care


• Responding to codes on the medical-surgical floor if needed

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you must have:

• MD or DO degree


• Board Certification in Emergency Medicine


• Active Arkansas medical license


• ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications

Additional Details:

• No call required


• No rounding outside of the ED department


• Opportunity to work with medical residents starting July 2024


• Open shifts available starting in May
