Title: Advanced Practice Nurse
Reports to: Director of Nursing Services and Psychiatric Services

Job Function:  Provides competent, holistic, effective advanced practice nursing care to consumers of behavioral health care at this agency according to standards set forth in statement on Psychiatric Mental health Clinical Nursing Practice (ANA, 1994). Population served will be adult consumers with mental illness and substance abuse (MICA). Functions as an independent nurse clinician and maintains competency to perform psychiatric evaluations, psychiatric pharmacological and psychological interventions, psychotherapy, consultation to other health care providers and evaluation of outcome. Maintains collaborative practice with physician for prescriptive practice.

Education Requirements:  Certified advanced practice nurse in the state of New Jersey and ANCC certification with a minimum of a master's degree in psychiatric/mental health nursing. New Jersey license required. Credentialed by Magellan Healthcare.
Experience Requirements:  At least five years of experience in psychiatric mental health.
