A healthcare system in Indiana is seeking Emergency Medicine physicians for a new emergency department opening in Fall 2026. Multiple locum providers are needed to support the launch and ongoing operations.

Compensation:

$350/hr

No solo coverage anticipated
Clinical Responsibilities
Evaluate and treat emergency department patients
Manage urgent and emergent medical conditions
Perform emergency medicine procedures as clinically indicated
Coordinate transfers when higher levels of care are required
Patient Care Model
Patients will be triaged upon arrival
Appropriate patients may be directed to either Urgent Care or Emergency Department services based on acuity
EMS transportation available when medically necessary
Requirements
MD or DO
ABEM Board Certified or Board Eligible
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Medicine experience
Active DEA
Indiana license or willingness to obtain
Stroke certification required
Preferred Qualifications
Flexible scheduling availability
Ability to work across multiple emergency department locations within the health system
Clean malpractice and background history
Additional Information
This is a newly opening emergency department, and operational details will continue to evolve as the site becomes fully operational.
Providers may also be considered for coverage opportunities at affiliated emergency department locations within the health system.
Trauma patients are stabilized and transferred to a higher-level trauma center when appropriate.
Credentialing timeline is approximately 90 days.
