"Cardiothoracic Surgery Locum Opportunity – NebraskaA regional referral center and Level II Trauma Center in Nebraska is seeking a Board-Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon for ongoing call coverage beginning July 2026. Compensation: Orientation: $215/hr On Call (Daily): $3,895 per 24 hours to include 4 hours gratis 24 Hour Holiday Call: $5,840 per 24 hours to include 4 hours gratis Call Back: $430/hr Holiday Call Back: $645/hr Position Overview Specialty: Cardiothoracic Surgery Coverage Type: 24-Hour Call Start Date: July 2026 Assignment Length: Ongoing PRN Coverage Coverage Dates Providers do not need to cover all dates to be considered. Current Coverage Needs July 14 – July 25 August 11 – August 17 August 30 – September 1 September 8 and ongoing Shift Times 24-hour call coverage 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM Practice Setting Hospital-based practice Level II Trauma Center 268-bed regional referral center EMR: Epic Clinical Responsibilities Cardiothoracic surgery call coverage Evaluation and management of cardiac and thoracic surgical patients Inpatient consultations Surgical intervention as needed Trauma-related thoracic coverage Required Procedures Candidates must be comfortable performing: Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) Heart valve surgery Thoracic surgical procedures Cardiothoracic trauma coverage Both cardiac and thoracic surgery experience are required. Reason for Coverage Vacation coverage for existing cardiothoracic surgeon Requirements Board Certified in Cardiovascular Surgery or Cardiothoracic Surgery Active Nebraska license highly preferred Active IMLC candidates accepted ACLS certification BLS certification DEA registration Clean malpractice history highly preferred Current NPDB Self-Query report dated within 30 days of presentation Availability must be provided at time of presentation Credentialing Estimated credentialing timeframe: 60–90 days Travel Travel assistance available per facility guidelines Local candidates preferred but not required Ideal Candidate Board-Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon with recent CABG and valve experience Comfortable providing thoracic trauma coverage at a Level II Trauma Center Available for ongoing call coverage assignments Licensed in Nebraska or eligible through the IMLC pathway"
