OB/GYN Hospitalist locum tenens opportunity in Arizona supporting an extremely busy OB center with approximately 6,000 births annually. This assignment includes in-house OB/GYN coverage, labor management, deliveries, rounding, and possible GYN surgery.

• Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient OB/GYN


• Start Date: June 2026


• Contract Type: Locum Tenens


• Coverage Need: Approximately 8 days per month

Schedule

• Coverage needed June, July, and August


• In-house coverage from 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM


• Possible beeper call from 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM


• May require full 24-hour in-house coverage depending on laborist coverage and L&D volume


• Temporary privileges available

Practice Details

• Approximately 6,000 births per year


• High-volume OB center


• Epic EMR


• 3 employed OB Hospitalists


• 19 community OB/GYN physicians


• 17 Certified Nurse Midwives


• Two MFM groups available


• Patient encounters vary from 6–24 per shift

Clinical Responsibilities

• Labor management


• Vaginal deliveries


• OB/GYN rounding


• Inpatient OB/GYN coverage


• ED consults as needed


• Possible GYN surgery


• Return-to-hospital coverage for OB, GYN, or ED patients as needed

Requirements

• Board Certified OB/GYN


• Fellowship training required per facility guidelines


• Hospital privileges required


• Clean NPDB, malpractice, and background check required


• High-volume OB Hospitalist experience strongly preferred

• Strong fit for experienced OB Hospitalists comfortable in very busy labor and delivery environments
