Registered Nurse - Telemetry - Shreveport, LA

- Shift: 4 days/week (including weekends), 12-hour shifts (Days & Nights)
- Hours/Week: 36 hours
- Employment Type: Contract (W-2)
- Licenses/Certifications: Active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in MedSurg/Telemetry; telemetry experience required
Pay & Benefits:
- Hourly Pay Rate: $46.90/hour

What You’ll Do:
- Provide continuous monitoring and care for telemetry patients, including IV management and medication administration
- Manage post-surgical patients such as those recovering from colorectal procedures
- Assess and respond to patient needs related to COPD, CHF, PNA, DVT/PE, sepsis, and other conditions
- Collaborate with charge nurses, support staff, and hospitalists to deliver high-quality care
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse EMR system
- Support patient care activities such as phlebotomy, tube management, Foley care, and post-op recovery
- Float within scope of practice to other units as needed
What You Need:
Required:
- Valid RN license in Louisiana or multi-state Compact license
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
- At least 2 years of MedSurg/Telemetry RN experience
- Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
- Experience with IV management, management of tubes/drains, and post-operative care
Preferred:
- Experience with Heparin infusions, IVIG, or non-titrating gtts
- Previous travel or hospital-based telemetry experience
