What You’ll Do
- Provide direct patient care in a hospital setting with a focus on urology post-operative patients and med/surg overflow.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and support patients with telemetry needs, including wound management, JP drains, wound vacs, PICC line care, PCA pumps, and pain management.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including hospitalists, RTs, PT/OT/ST, and support staff.
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse EMR system.
- Maintain patient safety, including med administration and cardiac stability.
- Float across various Med/Surg units as needed, adapting to different patient needs.
What You Need
Required:
- Valid RN license in Louisiana or eligible for state licensure
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
- 2+ years of RN experience in acute care settings, specifically med/surg and telemetry
- Ability to pass EKG competency exam
- Strong wound care and cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
Preferred:
- Experience with urology post-op care or surgical units
- Pediatric or additional specialty experience
