What You’ll Do
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms utilizing telemetry equipment
- Provide high-quality care to post-operative urology patients, including complex surgeries like prostatectomies, nephrectomies, and cystectomies
- Care for general medical and surgical overflow with diagnoses such as sepsis, CHF, DVT/PE, and respiratory conditions
- Manage wound care including JP drains, wound vacs, and post-op dressings
- Administer and monitor pain management protocols, PCA, and cardiac drips
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hospitalists, RT, therapy, and support staff
- Document patient care accurately in the EMR system
What You Need
Required:
- Valid RN license in Louisiana or able to obtain licensure
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
- At least 2 years of recent acute care RN experience in a hospital setting
- Ability to pass an EKG competency assessment prior to start
- Experience with wound management, telemetry, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
Preferred:
- Telemetry and Med/Surg experience
- Experience with complex post-surgical patients and advanced wound care
