ICU Registered Nurse – Critical Care, Metairie, LA

- Licensure/Certifications: Active Louisiana RN license, ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIH required (CPI available at facility for $100)
- Experience: 2+ years ICU experience required; CVICU experience highly preferred
- Special Requirements: Epic experience required; Impella and CRRT/NXSTAGE experience mandatory; ability to care for isolation patients and know N95 mask size

What You’ll Do:
- Provide advanced critical care to ICU patients, including ventilated, post-op, and complex cases
- Administer medications, perform lab sticks, EKGs, line starts, and manage IV Pumps and dialysis machines
- Monitor patient vital signs, utilize cardiac monitors, and adjust treatment plans accordingly
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including ED and PACU float staff when needed
- Respond to patient emergencies, and adhere to all safety and infection control protocols
- Document patient care accurately in Epic electronic health records
- Take on weekend shifts and provide flexible coverage across ICU and float to other units as assigned
What You Need:
Required:
- Active RN license in Louisiana
- 2+ years ICU experience, CVICU preferred
- Epic experience
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIH
- Ability to care for isolation patients and manage equipment like Alaris IV pumps and Fresenius CRRT machines
Preferred:
- CVICU experience
- Experience with Impella and CRRT/NXSTAGE devices
- Flexibility to float across units including ED, PACU, and MS/PCU
