Position: Pathologists' Assistant (ASCP) – Birmingham, AL

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM | Full-time (Benefit Eligible)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Pathologists’ Assistant (ASCP) to join our team in Birmingham, AL. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the patient care process by preparing, grossing, and dissecting human tissue specimens. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment while ensuring safety, compliance, and quality control. New graduates are welcome to apply!

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens, from simple to complex.
• Recognize and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Work safely in an environment with biological and chemical hazards.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree from a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program.
• ASCP certification (PA-ASCP) – REQUIRED.
• 1 year of laboratory experience grossing all tissue types preferred (new graduates considered).
• Strong analytical, reading, and writing skills.
• Proficiency in operating general laboratory equipment (computers, microscopes, pipettes, etc.).
