Shift and Call Details

  • Weekdays: Monday - Friday, 6 AM - 3 PM, with occasional weekday call from 3 PM - 6 AM. Hours may vary based on department needs.

  • 1 MDA on post-call duty daily.

  • 1 MDA on 1st Call Saturday and 2nd Call Sunday.
  
  
  • 1 MDA on 2nd Call Saturday and 1st Call Sunday.

Practice Setting and Details

• Setting: Hospital-based, surgical services department in a Level 2 trauma center.


• EMR System: Cerner PowerChart


• Average Surgical Cases Per Day: 13


• Supervision Requirement: The locum tenens physician will supervise CRNAs, with the work being almost 100% supervision. The CRNAs are highly experienced and work collaboratively with anesthesiologists.


• Number of Operating Rooms: 12


• Annual ER Volume: Approximately 25,000 visits


• Patient Demographics: Primarily adult/geriatric; no complicated adolescent or pediatric cases.

Requirements and Preferences

• Board Certification: Required


• Experience: Cardiac experience preferred


• Certification Requirements: ACLS, PALS, ATLS, DEA


• State License Requirements: Must be licensed in Iowa or eligible for IMLC
