"Locum Anesthesiologist Opportunity Position OverviewA growing ambulatory surgery program is seeking Board-Certified Anesthesiologists for ongoing locum coverage. Providers must be comfortable working independently as well as supervising CRNAs in a collaborative care-team model. Compensation: $390/hr Schedule Start Date: September 2026 Ongoing assignment 10-hour shifts, Monday–Friday Schedule: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM Coverage need: Approximately 2–3 weeks per month No call required Practice Setting Ambulatory Surgery Centers with occasional hospital coverage as needed Full privileges available EMR: Epic Clinical Responsibilities Providers will work in a mixed care-team model consisting of: Approximately 50% independent anesthesia care Approximately 50% CRNA supervision Responsibilities include: Pre-operative evaluation and assessment Administration and management of anesthesia throughout procedures Post-anesthesia patient management Supervision of CRNAs with typical ratios of 1:3 to 1:4 Case Mix Primarily bread-and-butter surgical cases including: Orthopedics General Surgery Neurosurgery Gynecology Podiatry Urology Pediatric cases Requirements MD or DO Board Certified in Anesthesiology Active Pennsylvania License (or eligibility through IMLC) DEA Registration ACLS Certification BLS Certification PALS Certification Minimum 1 year of experience Additional Information Providers must be willing to work both ambulatory surgery center and hospital assignments when needed. Must be comfortable performing solo cases and supervising CRNAs. Credentialing timeframe approximately 60 days. Travel assistance available for qualifying non-local providers.
