A healthcare system is seeking two experienced Advanced Practice Providers (NP or PA) to join its Cardiac Surgery ICU and Step-Down team. This is a non-operative inpatient position focused on the management of cardiac surgery patients in the ICU and step-down setting.

Compensation:

$175/hr

Schedule: Monday–Friday
Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week, up to 50 hours as needed
Setting: Inpatient ICU and Step-Down Unit
EMR: Epic
Clinical Responsibilities
Manage cardiac surgery ICU and step-down patients
Daily patient assessments and documentation
Phone coverage for inpatient cardiac surgery service
Coordinate care with cardiac surgeons and critical care teams
Participate in multidisciplinary rounds
Provide comprehensive inpatient management of adult patients

Chest Tube Placement
Chest Tube Removal
Wound VAC Changes
Practice Environment
Adult patient population
Approximately up to 10 patient notes per day
Collaborative environment with Cardiac Surgeons and Critical Care Physicians
Autonomous practice with physician support available
Qualifications
Nurse Practitioner (AANP Certified) or Physician Assistant
Active New York License
ACLS Certification
Epic EMR Experience
Prior ICU/Critical Care Experience Required
Cardiac Critical Care experience strongly preferred
Inpatient Medicine experience with a cardiology focus is highly desirable
New graduates will not be considered
Additional Information
This is a non-operative role
No operating room experience required
Credentialing timeframe approximately 6 weeks
