Locum Tenens Opportunity: General Surgery NP/PA

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) specializing in General Surgery for a locum tenens position near Smithville Flats, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for part-time and/or weekend coverage, with shifts available Friday through Sunday, either 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am. The position offers a chance to join a dedicated surgical team in providing exceptional care to patients.

Position Details:

Shift Description: Hospital-based, part-time and/or weekend coverage

Weekend Requirements: Friday-Sunday, 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am

On Call Requirements: PRN only

MANDATED Job Requirements:

NCCPA: Required for PAs

RNFA & FNP: Required for NPs

NY License: Required

Experience: 3+ years in and out of the OR (No new grads)

Clean Background: No malpractice

Local Candidate Mileage: Required

Proficiency in Da Vinci Robotics Si and Xi: Required

Certification Requirements: ACLS, BLS, NCCPA

License Requirements: New York

Additional Details:

Schedule: Friday-Sunday, 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am

Surgical Cases Per Day: 3-7

EMR: Epic

Supervising Physician: Not on-site but available at all times

Operating Rooms: 14

General Surgeons in Practice: 8

Patient Age Demographic: 16+

Required Duties: Pre-Op Physical Exams, Suture Removal, Diagnose Illnesses, Treat Illnesses, Order Tests, Interpret Tests, Assist in Surgery, Write Prescriptions, Coordination of Care

Additional Information:

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work autonomously in a hospital-based setting with a focus on general surgery. The ideal candidate will have strong laparoscopic and open surgery skills, as well as proficiency in Da Vinci Robotics Si and Xi. Local candidates within driving distance are highly preferred.
