Position Details:

• Start Date: ASAP


• Duration: Ongoing


• Schedule: 1-2 weeks of Hospital OB Call each month and 4-8 days in the Clinic for General GYN patients (consecutive)


• Shift Type: 4 - 10 hour shifts in the clinic per week, OB/pediatric on-call, 1:4 hospital coverage


• Inpatient and Outpatient Coverage


• Patient Types: Female, all adult ages, pregnancies, well-women, GYN problems

• Admissions per Day: Clinic-based provider with 0-1 hospital admission


• Number of Deliveries: 10-15 a month, approximately 94 per year


• C-sections: Approximately 40 per year


• NICU Level: No, nearest NICU is 50 minutes away in Redding (Level 3)


• In-House Anesthesia: 15-minute call response time


• EMR: Cerner


• Support Staff: Supervisor, MA, clerks


• Reason for Need: Replacement

Additional Details:

• Locums Responsibility: No supervision of healthcare providers


• Volume of Deliveries: 10-15 a month, may increase slightly due to the recent loss of physicians in a nearby hospital


• Consideration for FP with OB Experience: Yes, as long as the provider can handle C-sections independently


• Call Schedule: 24-hour shifts/1 week, with concurrent clinic days


• Backup Situation: General Surgeon on call who can close C-sections
