What You’ll Do:
- Provide expert nursing care to adult surgical and medical ICU patients
- Manage ventilators, assist with intubation/extubation, and care for ventilated patients
- Perform IV med titration, vasoactive drip management, and CVL placement/management
- Monitor and manage EVD drains, art lines, and other critical equipment
- Assess and stabilize patients with conditions such as STEMI, DKA, stroke, respiratory failure, sepsis, and neuro injuries
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including charge RN, CNA, phlebotomists, PICC team, RT, and hospitalists
- Adapt to floating assignments to units like PCU and MedSurg under set patient ratios
What You Need:
- Valid RN license and current certifications (BLS, ACLS, NIHSS)
- 2+ years of ICU experience, including ventilator and stroke management
- Proficiency in critical care procedures such as EKG interpretation and IV management
- Ability to perform patient assessments and respond to emergencies quickly
- Support within the department includes working with experienced charge RNs and team members
About the Assignment:
This assignment involves caring for adult ICU patients in a 20-bed unit specializing in surgical, cardiac, and neuro critical care. The role includes managing complex patient cases such as cerebrovascular events, respiratory failure, and post-surgical neuro patients. The unit emphasizes teamwork, patient safety, and professional growth. Orientation includes initial shifts and support from seasoned staff to ensure a smooth transition.
