What You’ll Do
- Float to various Oncology Medical-Surgical (MS) and PCU units as needed
- Ensure staff and patient safety in a secure correctional healthcare environment
- Administer medications and monitor patient vital signs using EPIC charting system
- Manage complex oncology and non-oncology diagnoses, including cancer workups and treatments
- Utilize Pyxis medication system and interpret results from telemetry monitoring
- Provide care for patients on ventilatory support such as CPAP/BIPAP and manage IV therapies
- Support multidisciplinary teams including pharmacy, radiology, physical therapy, and respiratory services
- Adhere to correctional facility security protocols and safety procedures during shifts
What You Need
- Valid RN license in Ohio or relevant state
- BLS certification required
- Proven experience in Medical-Surgical and telemetry nursing, preferably with oncology exposure
- Strong skills in medication management, cardiac monitoring, and IV therapy
- Ability to adapt to a correctional healthcare setting and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility for night shifts and patient care in a secure environment
About the Assignment
This position is based in a correctional healthcare unit for Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections inmates. It involves providing high-quality nursing care in a secure, controlled environment with a focus on oncology and general medical-surgical patient populations. Nurses will support a multidisciplinary team, perform complex clinical duties, and ensure compliance with safety and security protocols.
