What You’ll Do
- Provide rehabilitative, skilled, medically necessary treatment to patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist.
- Support clinical interventions using evidence-based practice.
- Administer rehabilitation procedures such as manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive/assistive devices as outlined in the treatment plan.
- Assess patient progress and communicate updates to the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatments as needed.
- Report treatment outcomes and effectiveness to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Assist with patient and family/caregiver education and consultation related to physical disorders.
- Document all required information in the electronic documentation system and maintain accurate patient records, including recording treatment minutes.
What You Need
Required
- Active State Licensure (when applicable)
- Ability to work under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist
- Strong knowledge of PT Assistant clinical responsibilities and documentation requirements
- Commitment to professional standards, including adherence to APTA and the State practice act/code of conduct/ethics
Preferred
- Experience working in Long Term Care (LTC) settings
- Comfort contributing to care conferences, trainings, and facility-required education
