What You’ll Do
- Provide 24-hour OB coverage (all-inclusive call).
- Respond to ED and L&D within 10 minutes and arrive within 30 minutes when emergency conditions require in-person response.
- Provide timely attending oversight—seen within 12 hours by attending after admission to L&D, and at any time the condition warrants.
- Participate in rounding for assigned and unassigned patients (noting that FM residency generally covers unassigned patients).
- Deliver care in a unit with an estimated ~450 deliveries/year (OB ~370–380/year, with some FM groups not requiring OB input).
- Coordinate with nursing and teaching teams to support resident/student supervision and clinical workflow.
What You Need
Required
- Active Michigan (MI) medical license
- No IMLC
- Board certification or eligible status (minimum board certification required)
- Ability to support 24-hour call coverage
- Strong responsiveness to ED/L&D per required timeframes
Preferred
- Board-ready comfort working with teaching supervision (FM residents and 3rd/4th year medical students)
- Any/all of the following are encouraged (not required): ABLC, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS
- Willingness to complete Conscious Sedation module if requesting privileges of administration (available at the facility)
