What You’ll Do
- Provide advanced surgical care for thoracic oncology patients with conditions such as lung, chest wall, mediastinal, and pleural diseases
- Perform minimally invasive thoracic surgeries, including robotic procedures and VATS
- Conduct advanced bronchoscopy and endoscopic procedures for lungs and esophagus
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a hospital setting within the Allina Health Cancer Institute
- Support patient management from diagnosis through post-operative care
- Participate in clinic and surgical schedule, including handling administrative or surgical overflow days
- Share call responsibilities among the surgical team to ensure continuous patient access
What You Need
- Required:
- Minnesota medical license or IMLC
- Board Certification in Thoracic Surgery (American Board of Thoracic Surgery) or Thoracic Cardiovascular Surgery (AOA Board)
- DEA license
- ACLS and BLS Tier 2 certifications
- Minimum 2 years of post-training clinical experience in thoracic or cardiothoracic surgery
- Preferred:
- Completion of Thoracic Oncology Fellowship
- Robotic surgical skills (2+ years)
- Experience with minimally invasive and robotic thoracic procedures
