Locum to Perm Physician – Hospitalist (OB/Laborist) | Warren, OH

What You’ll Do
- Provide hospitalist-style coverage in the OB/Labor & Delivery (L&D) practice setting
- Support labor and delivery care across routine and complicated deliveries
- Participate in decision-making for C-sections as clinically indicated
- Manage high-acuity delivery scenarios, including breech, multiple births, and abruption management
- Perform/oversee VBACs and repairs of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations
- Contribute to gynecology coverage needs including surgical gynecology support (as applicable)
- Document care using the Epic documentation system (per facility workflow)
What You Need
Required
- Medical degree and physician eligibility for the role (specific license/certification requirements not listed in the job order)
- Experience with Labor & Delivery / Obstetrics and delivery-related procedures including routine and complicated deliveries
- Ability to work the 7a–7p physician coverage schedule structure
Preferred
- Comfort/experience with VBACs, C-section decision-making, and 3rd/4th degree laceration repairs
- Experience supporting care in Level III obstetrics/L&D settings (facility supports Level III care)
About the Assignment
This locum-to-perm position provides coverage at St. Joseph Warren Hospital for a hospital-based L&D/OB practice setting using a laborist model. Coverage is needed due to insufficient employed physicians and midwives to sustain the model, with additional support from RNs and CNMs and care documentation through Epic. The assignment begins as soon as possible and continues until the facility hires additional providers.
