What You’ll Do
- Provide hematology/oncology clinical coverage in an inpatient and outpatient setting
- Manage a patient mix of adult and geriatric populations
- Support a Hem/Onc caseload of approximately 70% oncology / 30% hematology
- Participate in hospital rounds/call responsibilities as scheduled (no call required)
- See outpatient clinic patients with an average volume of 12–25 patients/day
- Round on inpatient/hospital patients with an average volume of 2–8 patients/day
- Work within an established clinical environment using Epic
What You Need
Required
- Clinical experience in Hematology/Oncology (years not specified)
- Ability to provide locum coverage starting ASAP / 06/09/2026 timeframe (credentialing timelines apply)
Preferred
- Experience in settings that include both inpatient and outpatient care
- Familiarity with Epic EMR (preferred, not required)

A cancer institute team at a leading facility in Mechanicsville, VA is seeking a Locum Hematology/Oncology Physician for ongoing coverage. This role includes a Mon–Fri, 8:00 am–5:00 pm schedule with no weekends and no call, supporting a practice with inpatient and outpatient responsibilities and an adult/geriatric patient population. Credentialing typically requires 3–14 days after submission for temporary privileges and 2–3 months for permanent privileges.
