What You’ll Do
- Identify the patient’s and family’s physical, psychosocial, environmental, safety, and developmental needs and individualize the plan of care.
- Conduct nursing assessments and document problems, goals, interventions, and outcomes achieved.
- Assess all aspects of patient pain and develop individualized pain management plans.
- Anticipate, prevent, and treat undesirable symptoms (including secondary symptoms) to support comfort.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings to establish, review, and revise the plan of care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records in compliance with regulations, certification standards, and legal/ethical requirements.
- Educate and support patients, families, and caregivers (including teaching interventions, medications, effects, and side effects as appropriate).
What You Need
