Valid state license or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist ? Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred ? Strong knowledge of speech and language disorders and treatment techniques ? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills ? Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team ? Strong organizational and time management skills
Skills
Assessment: ? Collaborate with SLP/OT/School Psychologist to participate in the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (IEP) Committee to assist in the interpretation of assessment, data, appropriate placement, and goal setting for students eligible for Speech Language and Occupational Therapy services. Consultation: ? Counsel and involve parents in the remedial process ? Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff to plan and implement remedial processes for the improvement of students’ skills ? Provide professional development in assigned schools to help school personnel identify and understand student deficits ? Communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents regarding the needs of the student, student progress, or mastery of therapy goals

Student Management: ? Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the maturity level and interests of students ? Seek assistance from school personnel to establish and administer discipline according to the school Student Code of Conduct Program Management: ? Develop and coordinate a continuing evaluation of Speech Language services and make changes based on the findings in collaboration with IEP Team Members ? Assist in the selection of equipment and instructional materials Education: ? Master’s (Preferred)
License/Certification: ? Speech-Language Pathology License (Required) ? ASHA Membership ? Professional Liability Insurance ?
