Description
We are seeking a dedicated Wound Care Physician Assistant for an urgent 1-day assignment in California, starting Jun 12, 2026. This role involves a mobile provider model, requiring travel between skilled nursing facilities, long-term care facilities, and post-acute rehab centers for home visits. The Physician Assistant will conduct comprehensive wound assessments, including staging, measurements, and photographic documentation, while managing a diverse patient population with conditions such as diabetes, immobility, and chronic wounds.
Responsibilities and Duties - Operate within a mobile provider model, traveling between skilled nursing facilities, long-term care facilities, and post-acute rehab centers
- Engage in independent clinical practice with collaborative support
- Work closely with Directors of Nursing, facility nurses, attending physicians, interdisciplinary care teams, and rehab staff
- Perform comprehensive wound assessments
- Conduct wound staging for pressure injuries stages 1–4, unstageable, and deep tissue injuries
- Take wound measurements including length, width, and depth
- Identify wound etiology
- Provide photographic documentation to track wound progression
- Evaluate skin integrity
- Identify signs of infection, necrosis, or delayed healing
- Manage patients presenting with diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, immobility, neuropathy, malnutrition, chronic illness, post-surgical wounds, and pressure injuries
- Treat various wound types including pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, arterial ulcers, surgical wounds, traumatic wounds, skin tears, infected wounds, and non-healing chronic wounds
Additional Information - Minimum 4 hours/day pay guaranteed
