  JOB REQUIREMENTS
  

  

    
• Board: BC/BE in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM), Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine (ABMS)

    
• Licenses: Active unrestricted Virginia Medical License and DEA with VA address

    
• DEA / CDS: Active DEA with VA address (schedules 2,2N,3,3N,4,5)

    
• Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS (if not BC in EM), NRP (for non-ABEM providers)

    
• Experience: Completion of residency in EM, FM, or IM; new EM residency graduates within 12 months considered with 3-month proctorship

    
• Other Qualifications: Case logs for past 2 years; Preeclampsia CME required; ECFMG for foreign graduates; Immunizations per facility requirements

  

  DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  

  

    
• Provide night shift inpatient coverage (7p-7a) for a 26-bed acute care unit with tele support.

    
• Manage admissions from the emergency department and handle floor calls for cross-coverage.

    
• Collaborate with day team for patient sign-out and ensure continuity of care.

    
• Document patient encounters and clinical decisions in the Epic EMR.

    
• Participate in rapid response and code situations with support from ED physicians.
