What You’ll Do
- Attend deliveries and provide OB inpatient coverage during your assigned in-house shift
- Provide OB triage, patient evaluation, and management for presenting patients
- Manage obstetric emergencies and provide fetal monitoring as indicated
- Assist with surgical cases and provide first assist support as needed
- Provide evaluation and management in the ER coverage setting for OB-related needs
- Participate in patient care workflow including assessment and follow-up on the OB service
- Support a busy OB practice attending approximately 30 deliveries per month (based on site volume)
What You Need
Required
- California licensure
- Board certification in OB/GYN (as applicable)
- BLS/ACLS capability (site requirements may be confirmed during onboarding)
- Ability to work in-house 24-hour shifts
Preferred
- Experience supporting hospital-based OB triage and delivery coverage
- Comfort working in a community hospital environment with affiliated specialty support (maternal-fetal medicine and neonatology support)
About the Assignment
This per diem OB hospitalist assignment is based at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, CA, supporting a community Level III NICU and a high-volume obstetric service. The coverage model includes 24-hour in-house shifts, with support from affiliated maternal-fetal medicine and neonatology practices as needed, and an estimated ~30 deliveries per month.
