What You’ll Do
- Provide bedside nursing care for oncology patients in a mixed-acuity Medical-Surgical/PCU setting
- Monitor and assess patients, including telemetry monitoring and responding to changes in condition
- Administer and manage therapies related to oncology care (including blood products)
- Support care for patients with central and peripheral lines, including central line blood draw, PICC management, and line care
- Assist with respiratory support as ordered (e.g., nasal cannula administration)
- Contribute to safe, effective care using hospital systems (Epic computerized charting)
- Participate in escalation/rapid response workflows as needed (including using Rapid Response Teams)
What You Need
Required
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical and oncology experience
- Epic experience required
- Ability to work the Night 3x12-hour schedule (19:00–07:30)
Preferred
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)
- Oncology/chemo certification (chemotherapy certification is NOT required)
About the Assignment
This assignment supports an oncology unit caring for patients with conditions including (but not limited to) leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and related disorders, including patients receiving transplant therapies and CAR-T treatment. You’ll join a mixed-acuity environment with computerized documentation in Epic and opportunities to care for patients requiring telemetry monitoring and advanced line management.
