Locations to choose from: Mt Dora, Leesburg, Summerfield, or The VillagesAs a Medical Assistant, you will work as a member of the team to provide care and support to patients under the Physician's direction and supporting staff members. Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinical services we offer. JOB DUTIES: Verifies patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, confirming purpose of visit. Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, reporting patient history summary. Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records, completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding, keeping patient information confidential. Counsels patients by transmitting physician's orders and questions concerning follow-up with prescriptions. Schedules follow-up by making arrangements with the front desk, verifying times with patients, preparing charts, pre-admission, and consent forms. Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, verifying receipts. Other duties as assigned Must be willing to work occasional overtime Must be willing to work occasional weekends Must be willing to help out occasionally in other locations JOB REQUIREMENTS Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent Minimum one-year experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical clinic EMR Experience a plus Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledgeable about the health care practices, terminology, and different clinical specialties Knowledge of HEDIS measures Must have the ability to satisfactorily speak, read, write and understand English for effective communication Knowledge of Electronic Medical records (EMR) and Practice Management (PM) systems is a plus. Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with healthcare services providers, coworkers, and patients Ability to work effectively as part of the team Strong organizing, coordinating, and multi-tasking abilities Strong follow-up skills WORK ENVIRONMENT All work is performed within a standard health care/primary care clinical setting.'
