The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will be responsible for conducting rounds on patients, performing assessments, coordinating and evaluating the plan of care, and implementing discharge plans at the direction and supervision of the Primary Physician permitted under Texas law. The NP will also administer medications/treatments and assist with procedures as ordered by the physicians. The NP will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to assure the safe and accurate delivery of care. While the NP is subject to practice under the protocols established and approved by the medical staff as required by Texas law, in all other respects the NP will be subject to the Hospital’s authority. Assumes, under the direction of the Laboratory, responsibility for patient specimen testing, quality control, quality improvement, and equipment maintenance.
Hours: NIGHTS: 3 twelve hour shifts one week/4 twelve hour shifts next week; no call - You will assist with patient assessments according to patient’s progress and/or unit protocols
and age-specific parameters. - You will document findings and communicate all pertinent information to interdisciplinary team
members as appropriate. - You will collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in the development, evaluation, and
revision of the plan of care as appropriate to meet the patient’s needs and goals. - You will provides
competent direct care and ensure the provision of a safe and comforting environment resulting in a high level of patient satisfaction. - You will delegate appropriately to licensed and non-licensed staff in accordance with job descriptions, license requirements, and standards of practice.
- You will be supervised by the supervising physician and/or primary care physician on Hospital’s Medical Staff
and the Hospital’s Vice President, Clinical Services, will supervise the Nurse Practitioner collaboratively. The divisions of supervisory responsibilities are as outlined in the job description.
