What You’ll Do
- Provide office and inpatient Maternal Fetal Medicine coverage across assigned facilities.
- Evaluate and manage high-risk pregnancies, including inpatient consults.
- Perform/cover key MFM procedures and manage associated care plans, including:
- Amniocentesis
- Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS)
- Pre-eclampsia
- Multiple pregnancy
- Growth restriction
- Chromosomal/genetic abnormalities
- Congenital abnormalities
- Pre-term labor
- Hypertension
- Thrombophilia
- Genetic disorders and birth defects
- Obstetric care including vaginal birth and cesarean birth management contexts
- Support complex maternal/fetal comorbidities that contribute to high-risk status.
- Use EPIC/Viewpoint for documentation.
- Coordinate with on-site support (clinic educator RN, sonographer, genetic counselor, and front office team).
- Rotate between locations as required during the coverage period (hospitals are ~30 minutes apart).
What You Need Required
- Physician with active licensure in the applicable state(s) (credentialing required)
- Demonstrated competency in Maternal Fetal Medicine and management of high-risk pregnancies
- Ability to provide coverage for both office and inpatient settings
- Experience/skills with MFM procedures including amniocentesis and CVS (and other listed high-risk pregnancy care)
Preferred
- Cerlclage experience (listed as preferred)
About the Assignment
A leading facility in Richmond, VA is seeking a locum Maternal Fetal Medicine physician to begin 09/15/2026 on an ongoing basis. Coverage includes office and inpatient support across Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital, St. Francis Medical Center, and Memorial Regional Medical Center, with a two-provider model (each provider covering specific sites) and clinic support from an NP who rotates sites. Providers will rotate between the two Richmond-area clinic sites and use EPIC/Viewpoint documentation.
