What You’ll Do
- Provide direct patient care to adults and geriatric oncology patients, including those with breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers.
- Monitor patients using telemetry, interpret telemetry data, and respond appropriately.
- Administer chemotherapy, medications, and assist with complex treatments as per protocol.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute patient care plans.
- Adhere to infection prevention protocols and safety procedures to minimize risks.
- Document clinical findings and care activities accurately in Epic electronic health records.
- Float to other Medical-Surgical Oncology units as needed.
What You Need
Required:
- Ohio RN license valid for 2026
- BLS certification
- At least 2 years of oncology or medical-surgical nursing experience
- Telemetry interpretation skills
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts reliably
Preferred:
- ONS Chemotherapy Certification
- Travel nursing experience
About the Assignment
This assignment involves caring for oncology patients throughout their cancer journey—from diagnosis through treatment and end-of-life care. The unit emphasizes infection control, patient safety, and teamwork. Evening orientation provides initial dayshift training, followed by on-unit orientation supported by preceptors. Flexibility for floating and self-scheduling requests is available to optimize work-life balance.
