Physical Therapist Assistant - Outpatient - (PTA)

StartDate: 8/24/2026
Available Shifts: 8 D
Pay Rate: $1600.00 - $1648.00

This Physical Therapist Assistant opportunity is located in Plano, Texas, one of the most desirable communities in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. Plano offers a high quality of life with well-kept neighborhoods, top-rated schools, extensive parks and trail systems, and a vibrant mix of dining, shopping, and entertainment options. Residents enjoy easy access to major highways, making commuting simple and providing quick connections to Dallas, Frisco, and other nearby cities. The area hosts year-round community events and festivals, including popular hot air balloon and family-friendly outdoor festivals that give the city a welcoming, community-focused feel.
The clinic is part of a large, respected outpatient physical therapy organization known for its evidence-based practice, clinical support, and opportunities for growth. Clinicians benefit from a structured environment that emphasizes high-quality musculoskeletal care, standardized treatment pathways, and strong interdisciplinary collaboration. The workspace is designed to support modern outpatient orthopedics, with open treatment areas, dedicated exercise space, and access to contemporary rehabilitation equipment to support a wide variety of patient needs.
As a Physical Therapist Assistant in this outpatient setting, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, helping to deliver individualized treatment plans for patients with a variety of orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions. A typical day may include assisting with postoperative rehabilitation, sports injury recovery, spine and joint pain management, and return-to-function programs for patients of diverse ages and activity levels. You will guide patients through therapeutic exercises, apply modalities as appropriate, assist with manual therapy techniques as directed by the PT, and provide clear education about home exercise programs and injury prevention.
Patient flow is designed to balance quality care with reasonable productivity expectations. You can expect an outpatient caseload with scheduled one-on-one or small-group treatment sessions, generally providing care across a full day of appointments. Treatment sessions typically run throughout the day, with time allocated for documentation in the electronic medical record system. Patient ratios and daily visit volumes are structured to support safe, effective care and maintain strong patient satisfaction and outcomes.
Shifts are typically weekday-based, with standard clinic hours that may include some early morning or early evening coverage to accommodate patient schedules. Weekend or holiday work is limited and dependent on clinic needs. The clinic team is collaborative and supportive, often including Physical Therapists, PTAs, and front office staff who work together to create a positive environment for both patients and clinicians. New team members are supported through orientation and ongoing mentorship, and there is opportunity to participate in in-services, skills development, and broader organizational initiatives.
Professionally, this role offers a strong platform for growth in outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation. Working within a large, established therapy system gives you exposure to diverse diagnoses, consistent protocols, and quality improvement initiatives. This clinic setting is well suited for a PTA interested in building skills in advanced orthopedic, sports, and spine rehabilitation while enjoying the benefits of practicing in a thriving, safe, and convenient North Texas community.
