What You’ll Do
- Provide outpatient nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the GI Oncology unit
- Perform patient assessments, including vital signs and symptom reviews
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
- Collect laboratory specimens, including blood glucose testing using glucometer
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation in EPIC electronic system
- Respond effectively to emergencies such as cardiac arrests, performing CPR as needed
- Assist with IV placements and other invasive procedures
- Support patient education and coordinate care as part of the multidisciplinary team
What You Need
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or ability to obtain
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in outpatient clinical settings, ideally in GI Oncology or related fields
- BLS certification required; ONS and OCN certifications preferred
- Strong skills in patient assessment, IV placement, lab specimen collection, and emergency response
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
About the Assignment
This outpatient GI Oncology clinic manages adult and geriatric patients with specialized care needs. The RN will support patient visits, administer treatments, and ensure quality documentation in a fast-paced, team-focused environment. The clinic operates Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, providing a predictable schedule to help balance your work and life.
