What You’ll Do
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric leukemia patients
- Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias using MS/Tele and Telemetry systems
- Implement infection prevention and patient falls prevention protocols
- Manage IV therapy, blood draws, and blood product administration
- Maintain central and peripheral line care, including PICC line management
- Utilize Rapid Response Teams as needed
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic charting
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure patient-centered care
- Adapt to a flexible schedule, including days and nights as per staffing needs
What You Need
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience, preferably in acute leukemia/Hematology
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- Strong telemetry interpretation skills and experience with IV therapy
- Ability to work independently and adapt to variable schedules
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
About the Assignment
This position involves caring for adult and geriatric patients diagnosed with acute leukemia, primarily focused on new diagnoses and hematology care. Expect to work on a unit emphasizing infection control and patient safety, with a goal of maintaining staffing ratios of 1:4 or 1:5 based on department needs. Orientation includes a week of classroom days followed by on-unit training with a preceptor.
