What You’ll Do:
- Provide post-anesthesia care for pediatric and adult patients in PACU
- Support patients recovering from all major surgical procedures, excluding critical care services
- Float between pediatric PACU and adult units as needed, supporting all surgical populations
- Utilize specialized equipment including Hoyer lifts, bladder scanners, and Accuvein
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and comfort
- Adhere to all clinical protocols and safety standards in a high-volume surgical environment
- Manage patient ratios of 1:2, with scheduled weekend shifts
What You Need:
- Valid RN license in State
- ACLS, BCLS, PALS certifications
- Preferred experience in PACU or Pre/Post Op nursing
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume surgical setting
- Flexibility to float between pediatric and adult patient care
About the Assignment:
This PACU nurse role supports a busy surgical unit within a prominent healthcare facility that manages a broad spectrum of surgical patients, with high pediatric patient volume. The unit includes two floors, with multiple ORs for various specialties, including regional anesthesia, interventional radiology, and endoscopy. Nurses will care for patients across all ages pre-op and post-op, ensuring safe recovery and readiness for discharge. Candidates should be comfortable working in a dynamic environment and floating as needed.
