Registered Nurse - Telemetry (12H Night Shifts) – Shreveport, LA

What You’ll Do:
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a telemetry and medical-surgical unit
- Monitor patient vital signs and accurately interpret EKGs (pass EKG competency exam required)
- Manage patient conditions such as sepsis, cellulitis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, COVID, PNA, post-op care including joint replacements and GI surgeries
- Administer medications, wound care, and other treatments as per physician orders
- Document patient care thoroughly in the EMR (Meditech Expanse)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including hospitalists, therapists, and support staff
- Support floating to various Med/Surg units as needed
What You Need:
- Valid RN license in Louisiana or ability to obtain
- Minimum of 2 years recent acute care RN experience in Med/Surg or telemetry units
- Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
- Strong clinical skills, including wound management, IV access, and EKG interpretation
- Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to start
About the Assignment:
Join a growing hospital with a new Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. This facility offers many educational opportunities and a collaborative environment dedicated to patient safety and quality care. The unit manages a variety of patient conditions, from post-op care to complex medical cases, with a patient ratio of 1:5-6 for RNs during nights. The role includes participation in weekend rotations, working 4 days one week and 3 days the next, with holiday coverage expected. New travelers will undergo a thorough orientation and support on the unit, with floating across units as needed.
