Encompass Health of Braintree, MA is a 178-bed acute rehabilitation hospital, south of Boston. We provide comprehensive Inpatient care for orthopedic, neurologic, multi-trauma, brain injury, stroke, pulmonary and cardiac rehabilitation needs. We are a hospital setting able to admit medically complex patients with a sole commitment to rehabilitation and recovery after a serious medical event. With an average length of stay between 1-3 weeks, we have the ability to get to know our patients and their families. Speech Language Pathologists are a key member of the rehab team of SLP, OT, PT, Nursing and Medical staff. As a Speech Pathologist at Encompass Health you will: - Work with patients recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, or Parkinson ’s disease in their acute phase of rehabilitation.
- Be providing 3 hours of therapy a day between SLP, OT, PT
- Enjoy our Clinical Ladders Program to develop you as a therapist.
- Have opportunities to lead group therapy (aphasia group, Parkinson’s speech group, memory group).
- Have opportunities for training and continuing education in stroke and neuro rehabilitation.
- Work in a supportive team environment.
- Have exposure to Visipitch technology, BITS technology
- Work with a collaborative team process with case management, nursing, PT, OT, MD for patient care.
- Work with a team of 5-7 full time SLP’s .
- Evaluate and treat impairments including aphasia, dysphagia, cognitive-linguistic impairments, motor speech impairments, trach weaning.
- Administer assessment protocols including MOCA, RBANS, WAB, CLQT, ALFA, BDAE, SLUMS, SCCAN, JFK CRS-R

We use evidence-based practice guidelines to treat our patients. We utilize our clinical outcomes to assess and improve our treatment interventions and programs. We participate in a national outcomes database, which provides benchmarks and sophisticated outcome reports to help us continually analyze and improve our patient outcomes. License or Certification:
- CCC and experience with medically acute patients.
- CPR certification preferred unless otherwise required by hospital policy.
Education, Training and Experience
