Description
* Location: Spokane, Washington * Facility Type: Acute Care Clinic * Start Date: IMMEDIATE NEED (ASAP) * Length of Assignment: 13 weeks (520 expected hours) * Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours/week. Shifts: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Includes rotating every 3rd weekend (with flexible weekdays off). * State License Needed: Washington State Certified Dietitian license (or ability to obtain before start)Medix has partnered with a premier healthcare facility in Spokane, WA to find a dedicated Registered Dietitian for an exciting travel contract assignment. In this role, you will work as an essential clinician within an interdisciplinary team, delivering high-quality nutritional care to a diverse patient population.
Skills
* Manage a high-volume workload of 12-15 patients per day across a variety of clinical settings. * Diagnose and treat malnutrition using nutrition support, including TPN (3-in-1 compounding) and enteral feeds. * Utilize critical thinking to manage complex, high-acuity medical patients. * Float between two local facilities to provide comprehensive coverage. * Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and participate in daily morning huddle meetings to redistribute workloads. * Document patient care using EPIC with smart phrases and auto-populating templates for efficient charting. * Conduct screenings, assessments, and follow-ups within a 20-30 minute window per patient. * Collect and analyze relevant patient information including medical/social history, lab values, diet history, and medications. * Estimate patient nutrient needs using evidence-based guidelines and develop appropriate care plans. * Respond to all RD referrals and consults within established timeframes. * Conduct individual consultations, diet instruction on chronic conditions (DM, CHF, obesity), and teach group education classes depending on the assigned clinic.REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelor’s degree. * Registered Dietitian (RD) certification through the CDR (must be in good standing with a current registration card; RDN-eligible candidates may be considered but must obtain CDR within 3 months). * Recent Acute Care experience is required (must be able to hit the ground running after a short orientation). * Proficiency in TPN, tube feeding, and malnutrition assessments for high-acuity cases. * Washington State Certified Dietitian (CD) Card within 90 days of employment (or 90 days from RDN Registration date if RDN-Eligible). * Current Washington State Food Handlers Card. PREFERRED SKILLS * Experience with EPIC EMR is highly preferred. * Previous experience with TPN and nutrition support in a hospital setting. * CNSC certification is a plus but not required.
