A healthcare organization in East Texas is seeking a Physician Assistant with cardiothoracic surgery experience for an urgent locum tenens assignment. This inpatient opportunity focuses on postoperative cardiac and thoracic surgical care with a collaborative cardiovascular surgery team.

• Setting: Inpatient

• Contract: Immediate coverage with ongoing opportunities as available


• Schedule: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM day shifts


• Call: None


• EMR: EPIC


• Temporary Privileges: Available

Clinical Responsibilities

• Round on cardiovascular surgery patients in the ICU


• Manage preoperative and postoperative cardiothoracic surgery patients


• Care for patients recovering from open heart, thoracic, and lung procedures


• Assist with ventilator management and postoperative critical care


• Collaborate with the cardiothoracic surgery team on patient management


• Document patient care using EPIC

Requirements

• Certified Physician Assistant


• Experience in cardiothoracic or cardiovascular surgery


• Inpatient critical care experience preferred


• Vein harvesting experience strongly preferred


• Ability to manage postoperative cardiac surgery patients in an ICU setting
