Anesthesiologist – Hospital-Based Surgical Coverage

A healthcare organization in Western New York is seeking a Board Certified or Fellowship-Trained Anesthesiologist for a long-term locum tenens assignment. This opportunity offers weekday daytime coverage with shared pager call while caring for a diverse surgical population in a collaborative anesthesia practice.

Assignment Details

• Setting: Hospital-Based Anesthesiology


• Start Date: September 1, 2026


• Contract: September 1, 2026 – July 31, 2027


• Credentialing: Approximately 60 days


• Schedule: 10-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday


• Shift: 6:00 AM–4:30 PM


• Call: Weeknight, weekend, and holiday pager call


• EMR: Epic

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care for a variety of surgical procedures


• Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations and obtain informed consent


• Administer and monitor anesthesia throughout surgical procedures


• Manage induction, maintenance, emergence, and postoperative anesthesia care


• Provide anesthesia services for general, orthopedic, and obstetric cases


• Supervise Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) while also managing independent cases


• Document patient care using Epic

Requirements

• MD or DO


• Board Certified in Anesthesiology or fellowship trained


• Completion of an accredited Anesthesiology residency


• Active New York medical license


• ECFMG certification and FLEX documentation, if applicable


• Experience providing anesthesia for general, orthopedic, and obstetric procedures


• Comfortable supervising CRNAs


• Eligible for hospital credentialing
