What You’ll Do
- Provide expert nursing care for patients in PCU, including those with CVA, TIA, and COVID-19
- Manage complex clinical situations involving IV drips, arterial lines, and feeding tubes
- Conduct assessments, monitor patient vital signs, and adjust treatments accordingly
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including hospitalists, RTs, PT/OT/ST, and resource nurses
- Document accurately in Meditech Expanse EMR system
- Respond to patient needs with professionalism and according to hospital protocols
- Float to Stepdown and MedSurg units as needed, maintaining high quality care standards
What You Need
- Valid RN license in Louisiana or licensure eligible for reciprocity
- Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care RN experience, including ICU or PCU
- Certification in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required
- Skills in CVL management, Foley care, NGT/PEG tube feedings, arterial line handling, and drip titration
- Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to start
- Strong clinical judgment, patient assessment skills, and professionalism
